Custom Item Search
Overview:
Your company stores certain specifications for items in user defined fields and note fields. Often, they are required to find available inventory for a sale based on these specifications. You would like the ability to search available inventory based on data in the user defined and notes fields.
Proposed Solution:
A Flexibility script will be attached to the Multi Level Item View screen (IMITMINQ) that will allow the user to search for items based on data contained in certain user defined fields and/or notes fields.
The user enters the 'Multi Level Item View' screen.
Because Flexibility is not available on this screen, the user must click on any item to expose another screen.
The user will press the {F12} function key to expose a special search form.
User will select the field(s) and search type, then key in the search value. User may select the "Loc Qty > 0" to limit the search to Locations where Qty On hand is greater than 0. When the user clicks the search button, the relevant items will be retrieved from the Item Master file and displayed in Item No sequence in the listbox display. The Qty Available column will be calculated as follows:
(Qty On Hand) - (Qty Allocated) + (Qty Backordered) = (Qty Available)
Selecting an Item will enable the 'Item History' command button. Selecting this command will display a screen with Sales and Purchasing history for the selected item. See separate document 'Item History View' for screen detail.
The user may double-click any line item or select a line item and click 'Close' to close the search screen and return to the Macola Multi Level Item View screen. User will press the {F11} key to display the selected Item No in the Multi Level Item View screen, from which all standard Macola drill downs and data lookups are available.
