Replicate Master or Quote Order
New quotes are often very similar to previously created quotes or Master Orders. To provide a starting point for a new quote, you would like the ability to replicate an existing Master Order or Quote type Order.
Proposed Solution:
A freestanding VB program will be written to allow the user to replicate a Master Order or Quote type order to a new quote with a new Customer number.
Details:
A VB user interface will be provided.
The user will select either a 'Master Order No' or a 'Quote No' to be replicated from the available choices. The 'Master Order No' drop down box will be populated with all available Master Order Numbers. Additional fields displayed will be the Customer Number and Customer Name ordered by Master Order Number.
The 'Quote No' drop down box will be populated with all 'Q' type order numbers and all 'O' type order numbers that do not contain an Item whose Product Category is "NEW". Additional fields displayed will be the Customer No and Customer Name ordered by Order Type and Order Number.
The user will enter an existing Macola Customer Number for which the new Quotes Order will be created. The user may optionally enter the new Customer PO and/or Requested Ship Date.
The user will be required to enter the Location that will be used as the default for all Line Items.
A checkbox is provided to 'Set 'Qty To Ship' to 'Qty Available'. Default is 'Yes' (checked).
- When this box is checked, the Qty To Ship for each line item will be filled with the in stock quantity available. If an insufficient quantity is available, the item will be Back Ordered.
- When this box is NOT checked, the Qty_To_Ship will be filled with the Qty Ordered, regardless of the quantity available. No Backorder will be created.
An Option Box is provided to allow the user to set the desired Price/Cost to be used
- Option choices are 'Cost', 'Price' 'Both', 'Neither'. Default is 'Neither'.
- If 'Cost' update is selected, the 'Std_Cost' (from Item Location file) for the line item location will be used.
- If 'Price' update is selected, price will come from the price code file using the normal pricing priorities as defined in OE Setup.
(Note: This application will support only Type 5 Price Code records)
- If 'Neither' is selected, the Cost/Price from the Master Order or Quote will be used.
When the user clicks 'Create Order', a message box will confirm the selection.
If user selects 'No' the process is abandoned.
If user selects 'Yes', the Master Order or Quote details are retrieved from Macola. A new 'Q' type order is created as follows:
|
Header:
Line: Line Item details are duplicated exactly per the Master Order or Quote with the following exceptions.
Items will be validated to insure that none are 'Obsolete' or 'Inactive' in Macola. If an Inactive or Obsolete item is found, the user will be informed of the problem and the process will be terminated Note Text, Line Comments and Sales Commission calculations are not supported. In addition to the OE Header and Line Records a record will be written to the OE Header and Line Audit tables and to the OE Inquiry Order table. When processing is complete, a message box will confirm the Quote No created in Macola. |
