Rollup Costs from POP Order to OE Sales Invoice

Overview:

Your company uses the same Item No to represent a manufactured item that is produced in a variety of different configurations, each of which has different costs. Consequently, the items may not reflect the actual 'as built' costs. When an order is selected for billing, you would like to update the Cost of the line item to include materials and Value Add costs specific to the Production Order that was used to manufacture the item.

Proposed Solution:

A Flexibility enhancement will be developed to read the appropriate data files, calculate an updated Cost and update the OE Order Line and Header fields as appropriate to reflect the correct cost of the line.

Detail of Requirements:

A Flexibility script will be attached to the OE 'Select For Billing' screen (OE0101.b).

When the user has completed the selection of items (Bill All, Bill Certain, etc) and completes the transaction, the selected line items will be recalculated.

• (Note: The data cannot be updated while the user is accessing the details of the order, User must exit this order and re-enter to see the changes, if any).

If a line item is selected for billing, the enhancement will update the cost as follows:

1. If the Line Item 'Forced Demand' flag is set to 'P' (a Pull Item), cost will be the sum of component costs in the Bill Of Material, Value Added Costs (if any) and the cost from 'Adjust Material Issue' transactions (if any).
2. If the 'Forced Demand' flag is NULL and the Item is a Stocked Item, the cost will be the current Average Cost from the Item Location file.
3. If the 'Forced Demand' flag is NULL and the Item is a Non-Stocked Item, the cost will not be updated.
4. All other line items will not be updated.

After all line item updates have occurred, the enhancement will recalculate required fields on the Order Header to reflect the new costs.

User will Print and Post invoices through Macola in the customary manner.
