Variable BOM Item Message Overview

Overview:

Certain items require modification to the captured Bill Of Material prior to entering Production. Innovend would like the user to be notified when one of these items is entered on a Production Order or when the item is disassembled.

Proposed Solution:

Items that may have a variable BOM will be flagged using User Defined Field 1 in the Item Master file (IMITMIDX_SQL.User_Def_Fld_1). This field will be exposed on the Item master maintenance screen as a checkbox and will be labeled 'Variable BOM'.

The existing Flexibility script on the POP manual entry screen will be modified. When the user enters an item for which the 'Variable BOM' checkbox is checked, a message box will be displayed.

In addition, a new Flexibility script will be created for the Production Order Disassembly screen (PP3010D). When the user enters an item for which the 'Variable BOM' checkbox is checked, the same message box will be displayed.
