Request a License Name Change

You may request a license name change for your business as long as the registration numbers of your business license or your permits from state and local government agencies have not changed. Exact will agree to a license name change in the case of:

1. A new trading name
   For example, Johnson Inc. has changed to Johnson & Son Inc. In this case, only the statutory name has changed and the registration numbers have remained the same.
2. A new legal structure
   Sometimes it is necessary to adapt the legal structure of a business to new situations. For instance, if a one-man business or partnership grows, it can make sense to restructure the business into a private limited company. This is still the same business, while the legal structure has changed.
